Note to new users: Currently, due to a technical problem, new users who attempt to set up an account to submit articles will not be able to but can request an account by completing the form linked below:

Please Note: The editors of IJCP conduct all communication with authors via email. As such, it is important that you keep your email address as entered in the system accurate. If you change institutions mid-submission, please update your email on your profile page. We can not be responsible for missed deadlines or communications that result from inaccurate author email addresses.
Submission Guidelines
Beginning in fall 2016, the submission timeline is as follows:
Sept. 1 -- All manuscripts for consideration for general issues due
Dec. 1 -- All author revisions and resubmissions due
Jan. 15 -- Final author revisions due
Apr. 15 -- Author copy edits due
We will publish a general issue in the Fall and Winter of each year. For example, an accepted submission entered in Sept. 2016 will be published in either the Fall or Winter 2017 general issues. Manuscripts are published at no cost to the author.
Special issues will follow their own guidelines as delineated in their call for submissions. Special issues may be published in either the Spring or Summer.
Manuscripts should be submitted solely to this journal and should not have been published before, or that it is not in-press, or submitted elsewhere. In the case that a reprint is requested, author should secure rights and permission prior to submission to IJCP. All research needs to meet the ethical guidelines of its discipline, be original work and submission must be prepared for blind review (e.g., the complete text minus the title page, acknowledgements, and any running headers of author names, to allow blinded review). Authors are completely responsible for securing any copyrights necessary.
Published in North Carolina with an international scope, the International Journal of Critical Pedagogy publishes articles in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Brazilian Portuguese with an acceptance rate of 15-20%. Read more here: About the Journal
Online, authors must identify the submission type: articles, book and multimedia reviews, multimedia, and creative work.
Length limits per type of submission:
Articles: .doc or .docx files, 6500 words or less including the references
Book and Multimedia reviews: .doc or .docx, 2000-3000 words
Multimedia: mov files, mpg4 files
Creative: jpeg, eps, or psd format only files, 300 dpi or higher
All submissions must include an abstract of 100-300 words and 3-5 keywords.
Style:
All submissions should follow the latest edition of APA. Documents must be in .doc or .docx format only. Please do not upload PDF files. The Taylor & Francis guidelines for APA and a link to the official APA manual are available at http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/authors/style/reference/tf_APA.pdf . See referencing guidelines below.
Review Process:
Submissions undergo screening for adherence to formatting and guidelines, as well as internal editorial and external double blind peer review. The editorial team relies heavily on external reviews. Ultimately, acceptance for publication is the decision of the editorial team.
If the decision requires you to revise or resubmit your manuscript:
When you have completed your edits, please upload a new file to this submission. Ensure that any Track Changes are turned off and that the submission is still blinded for review.
In addition, upload a file in which you indicate the area of improvement along with a description of how you addressed each area.
Blinding:
To ensure anonymity in the review process, the blinded submission should not include authors' names. Self-citations and references should be removed from the article's main text, reference list, and notes. Information in the text that would identify the author should be deleted from the manuscript (e.g., text such as "my previous work," especially when accompanied by a self-citation, should be replaced with "blinded for review") and may be reinserted if accepted for publication. Information that could help identify any author (e.g., mention of any affiliation) should also be removed (e.g., "blinded for review" may be inserted in place of removed text). Citations and references should be blinded using "Author" and "citation blinded for review" realphabetized in the reference list. The author's name should be removed from the document. To ensure that this is done completely follow these instructions:
You can save a document without the names or initials of authors who are associated with the document.
Open a document that has been saved that you want to make anonymous.
For Word 2016, click File, Info, Check for Updates, and then Inspect Document. For older versions of Word, click the Microsoft Office Button, point to Prepare.
Click Inspect.
Click Remove All next to Document Properties and Personal Information.
IMPORTANT - Do not click Remove All next to Comments, Revisions, Versions, and Annotations, which will permanently delete all of the comments from the document.
Click Reinspect, and then save the document.
When you reopen the document, all comments that appear in the document will appear without names or initials.
For Microsoft Word for Mac 2016, click on Tools, Protect Document, and then click Remove personal information from this file on save. Protect Document is also included in the Review Tab in the Ribbon.
Submission Guidelines for Multimedia and Creative Work:
Submissions undergo screening for adherence to formatting and guidelines, as well as internal editorial review. Multimedia and creative work undergoes a juried review. Acceptance for publication is ultimately the decision of the editorial team with consultation of jury decisions.
