Editorial Policies

Focus and Scope

Working Papers in Education is an annual, peer-reviewed, online journal managed by graduate students of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s School of Education. It is committed to providing a venue for UNCG School of Education graduate students to share their research and contribute to academic dialogue. The journal publishes full-length conceptual, methodological, and empirical papers in education research. Sponsored by the Center for Diverse Language Communities, the journal is particularly interested in, but not limited to, submissions related to the following areas of research:

Peer Review Process

All submissions will be reviewed by one of our graduate student peer reviewers. They will judge submissions based on content, style, and relevance to the scope of the journal. As a working papers journal, focus will be on providing feedback for submissions toward creating a stronger manuscript which can be included in the journal. Authors can expect to receive a response of "Accept," "Resubmit with minor revisions," and "Resubmit with major revisions" along with feedback.


Publication Frequency

Working Papers in Education will be published once a year as an open access journal.


Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.



This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
